Development of Villages in India- 2

In continuation to the previous post, let me put up a few things first need to be done, to protect our environment and nature. These may look simple and do able for few, but for many these may not be interesting things at all. But one thing we should remember is when we dont care for our nature, it wont care for us.

Things to be followed.

1. Growing of 1 tree per person.
2. Keep your surroundings clean. Dispose waste in dustbins only and not somewhere else.
3. Avoid plastics and other non degradable materials usage.
4. Seperate degradable and non degradable wastes and dispose them appropriately.
5. Make sure you have a proper rain water harvesting system in place in your home.
6. Use water preciously. Dont waste water.
7. Use minimal electricity. Dont over use it and criticize governement for power supply shortage.
8. Use public transport to maximum and personal vehicles to minimum.
9. Use organic fertilizers and avoid inorganic fertilizers.
10. Use bio gas instead of LPG,wherever possible.

All the above things can be followed easily, but are we doing it? Question yourself once before crying out temperatures are rising, monsoons are improper, water and power shortages are existing. If you follow the above , atleast to certain extent, you wont face high temperatures, low ground water levels, environmental pollution increase.

These may be looking philospohical, but think once before criticizing on the fuel price increase, water shortage, power shortage, environmental pollution that have you used them effectively. If you have not used effectively, you dont have rights to cry against these problems. Because you have been a major contributor to these problems.

There are various reasons why by not doing the above mentioned things are runining our peaceful lives. Here is a little brief on how these are important.

1. Growing of 1 tree per person.

The forest coverage or the trees count have been reduced drastically all over India in the past few decades. As a result of which, our environment started acting against us.
Govt has been telling us to grow a tree per home, but now a tree per person is the minimal requirement to bring our environmental balance to a certain extent,if not fully. Also, the rain fall reduction and irregular monsoons are a result of not having enough trees.
By having more trees grown, we will defenitely have a lower temperature climate than what we are having now. More fresh air means, more healthy living. And the increase in the trees count will defenitely bring down the environmental pollution which will give us a healthier life.
There are many things inter related to this aspect and defenitely it will be one of the most important things to do. And growing trees can also help the soil absorb more water, which in turn can maintain the ground water level too. Also soil erotion wont be much if more trees are there. And they give a pleasant atmosphere to live as well. Cant we do this? We can,but we should come forward to do this. Its not a difficult thing to do at all.

The saga continues!!!!!

Development of Villages in India!

While I am writing this there is a discussion going on bringing the black money back at central level, Devendra Fadnavis becoming Maharastra CM, relief work kn Hud Hud Cyclone, Kathi controversies, sudden knowledge gained intellectuals posting how corporates are looting our villages. People of a village in Tamilnadu protesting against Pepsi and Swach Bharat campaign promotion in media.

Leaving all these aside, lets think how villages in India can be developed with little financial requirements and maximum effort. You may think its far from reality, but it is not. I am penning down my thoughts on how can India become a developed country through the development of our villages. For some these may be looking awsome, for many these may look like someone who wrote something to prove his knowledge.

Make environment Greener:

This should be the first requirement to be met for the nations development through rural development. It may look funny, but its the most required at the moment. Motorized vehicles have grown by huge numbers and almost there is a vehicle for every 10-20 people. As a result of which, the Carbon dioxide emissions are growing by huge margins every year, with the amount of trees cut down for various reasons, the environmental balance is mot maintaied. As a result of it, the rainfall level is going down every year, with irregular monsoon cycles, resulting in underground water level going down every year.

Lets have a solution for this and bring our environmental balance back. Lets make more lands cultivable, lets have good water resources for our livehood. Lets make our nation a less polluted one,by creating pollution free or low polluted villages. One may ask why not urban areas too, lets start with rural areas and then shift it to urban areas as well.

There were messages from governments of states and the centre, to grow a tree for every home, harvest rain water to make our future generations live happily. Are we taking it seriously? My answer is a big NO,because almost everyone does not take this to their minds and keep cutting the trees, not plant new ones and finally say Rain God deceived them. If you protect your nature,it will protect you, if you dont, it wont.

Is it so difficult for us to plant a tree or two for every house for a better future? I dont think so. But are we doing it? A big NO again for it. And how can we expect timely monsoons and a good underground water level? Are we  protecting our water resources, are we creating enough opportunites in our villages to keep the rain water sink into ground? Again NO for this. In most of the villages accross our country, the lakes and ponds are destroyed or either under maintained, which is one of the major reasons why rain water is let out waste.

We have 100 day work programme, wherein all rural unemployed are utilized for doing work that is required for villages, like laying roads, maintaining lakes, ponds etc. But we are not doing it properly and just spending money. A work that can be done in a day is counted for 2-3 days and all the works are done half baked. There are very few places where this scheme was utilized properly, but in many places it is not. If the water bodies are maintained properly, the environment will be definetely  greener, the ecosystem will be on a balance and most importantly, you preserve the nature for future...
