Vishwaroopam - Is it Govt's Venegance act against Kamal?

There is an article in Junior Vikatan, mentioning the following as reasons for the ban on Vishwaroopam

1. Kamal being close to Kalaignar family & giving Salem area rights to Udhay Stalin.
2. Not Selling Satellite rights to Jaya TV.

Following today's verdict of HC , ruling in favour of the state government. All the national TV channels started discussing with many personalties who are in support and opposing the movie.

The basic questions were

1. Is freedom of expression getting killed in this nation?
2. Is it a State government's venegance act, citing the fringe protestors?
3. Is the state government playing Vote bank politics by listening to the protestors?

Going through the issues, all these look perfect and finally it has become a personal grudge of the TN ruling party.

Where is democracy living in this country?

I really thank Dhanush a lot for giving a statement, if Kamal Hasan leaves the country, we will be going behind him wherever he goes, in answer to anchor's question.

In the same show, Govt's advocate is simply Saying " No No No No to everything, the movie has to be banned because of the protests".

In Times now- Arnab' show, Inayathulla's is unable to counter the questions asked by Leela samson ,Mahesh Bhat and Arnab. This shows how adament they are in cornering the movie , though the scenes shown in the movie were happened in US-Taliban war. When Arnab asked what is the Censor board scam raised by Govt advocate, he is repeatedly saying there is scam ,there is scam but not at all saying what is the scam... It proves how baseless the protests are asking for the ban. He is shouting like anything simply and meaningless.

Its a real shameful situation for our democracy , freedom and freedom of expression.

Vishwaroopam Issue- Death Knell to Tamil Cinema

Last evening at 10.15 pm ,the high court judge clearead Vishwaroopam for the release. Orders has been passed to the Govt to remove 144 section in all districts against screening of this movie. Later when Govt Advocate General wanted to get a stay order , the court ordered that it will be taken up for hearing at 02.15 pm today, and till that time the judgement should be implemented, but it was not. Isn't it not obeying high court orders , by the govt?

And moreover, this issue is being seen as an issue for Vishwaroopam and Kamal hasan alone. It is not. It is the supressing act by Govt against Tamil Cine Industry. Where the unity among film industry had gone now? Why there are no voices raising in support of the movie from the industry, except few? Are they afraid of the govt, or they are thinking that they do not have freedom of speech and expression?

We boast up that we are the largest democratic and secular country in this world, but I dont see both existing. No freedom of speech, no freedom of expression allowed here. But still we call ours is democracy, I feel dictatorship is lot better, because we will be knowing clearly what will be allowed and what not.

Govt is trying all the possible ways , with the help of the protestors to ban the movie. There are some news coming out that 1 hour duration of the movie which is portraying Afghan militants should be removed, which is the heart of the movie. What hurts the sentiments of these protestors , if an Afghan militant is shown as how he is in real life , which the whole world knows. Do they want to show Afghan militants as heroes of the movie and others as villains? People of thier community who had watched the movie has not found anything offensive, or anything shown which is not happening around the world in reality. Only a few are disliking it because they treat their community ahead of the country.

If you dont like the movie, or dont like to watch it, you do not watch and support it. Why you are asking for a complete ban of the movie? Is it democratic act? Is it patriotic act? It is really degrading thier communtiy. Arent they realising a movie will be seen as a movie by our audience? How many films had really created impact in our society? I bet there is none so far.

It really makes many to feel that , there is no issue other than this, that the Govt has to resolve. The entire state is facing lot of power cuts and many other issues, cant the govt concentrate on those rather than cornering a movie and banning it, despite the High court ruling that the movie can be screened and there is no offensive content at all.

The interview given by Kamal really reveals how he has been cornered and intentional ban against his movie with political motives behind it. Justice delayed is justice not given. Are the people asking for ban are thinking that every one else are fools? It looks they are looking so.

All these acts directly and indirectly reveals few things

1. Kamal hasan has to be cornered, because he supported Chidambaram & did not agree to give satellite rights to Jaya TV
2. There is no freedom of speech and expression exisisting and democracy too.
3. The protestors want to show that they do not have patriotism and they want all the Afghani & Paki militants as good people, because they belong to these protestors community. And more publicity for them.
4. Censor board certification is not at all having any value
5. High court judgement needs not be followed by the Govt mandatorily.

There are millions are people eagerly waiting to watch the movie in TN. Absolute failure of Govt and democracy here in this case.

P.S : It is not to offend any one. Its just my view on the happenings going on Vishwaroopam. Everyone knows all these too.

Vishwaroopam- Ban lifted!

At last the court goes with the genuine judgement and proves there is some democracy existing still in the country. This brings relief not only to Kamal and the Tamil cine industry. Also, for all the Kamalians, Movie lovers and millions of muslim brothers and sisters who were feeling ashamed and embarrassed because of the protests by few religious organizations.

The judge had ruled that it the "the best ever muslim friendly movie in recent times", of course it is 200% true and the movie is portraying the Indian muslim character "WISAM" in the best possible way, which can make everyone to respect the community.

Now where the protestors , who caused a big disgrace to their community, will keep their heads now? Their logical( illogical ) reasons asking for a ban became ashes now. Its hard fought victory for Kamal and Vishwaroopam. Although this is expected, the protestors were in news for quite some time.

Today afternoon, the movie was released on full flow in Bangalore, despite being a weekday, all the shows got housefulls, within minutes after the Commissioner had given green signal for the screening. All the shows ( 24) were housefulls in Rockline Cinemas, Bangalore from Jan 25th. Now every screen is running fulls, in the city. I am damn sure that this will be be the top grosser for Tamil movies in Bangalore, if not , at least top grossing Kamal movie here.

I am waiting for the verdict eagerly , like millions of Kamalians, and finally breathed sigh of relief, when the announcement came in NDTV. Great Kamal Sir. The support for Kamal rendered in social networking is at the peak level possible ,like never before.

The only thing I felt sad is the way Nadigar Sangam kept silent and did not show full support for the movie.

At last , those who asked for the ban failed miserably now. Once again Truth Triumphed in this country. Warm hearty thanks for all those who supported Kamal. Vishwaroopam got a Vishwaroop Victory. Special thanks for the judge who stood on the fact that there is nothing to ban the movie.

Vishwaroopam - Why Dirty Politics?

Twist and Turn came in the protest against Vishwaroopam today , in the court.

Advocate General saying that it will create law and order problem in the state and asking to remove all the scenes that involves Afghan terrorists is a foolish statement by the well learned judicial person. More over, raising an issue that Censor board has cleared it illegally and the censor certificate is a Scam is absolutely rubbish.

Are they thinking every one are fools around them? When Kamal's advocate asked will they deposit Rs 100 crore towards the losses incurred by the film, they had no answers. It looks like the state government, who is looking out to corner Kamal with the help of the protestors.

If Kamal had given the satellite rights to Jaya TV, surely this ban would never been into picture. Since he had not given, he is politically targetted with the Power the Government has. When Judge himself is convinced that there are no offensive scenes and movie will cause no harm to society, why this fake allegations are raised now?

If the censor board certification is a scam , dont they know it before? Why they are initiating it now, is it because the judge is about to give a green signal to the release of the movie?

If the Governement cannot maintain law and order of the state , for the release of a movie, which has no offensive content, they how the Government will protect common human during thier tenure?

Watch movie as a movie and not some thing else, if you want to corner some one , corner him legally . Not  by banning his movie. An artist can never be supressed by these kind of silly protests and ban. Already it is a big hit overseas and in the places where it got released.

Kamal has every right to demand the Government to pay compensation ( atleast INR 80 Crs ) towards the losses incurred by him because of the opposing from them , for the release of the movie. This is the "CULTURAL TERRORISM" followed here. Every artist is made look liek a Minority , than any community person. Shame on the society and Shame on the Govt citing law and order reasons. Its clearly looking like a personal grudge and not because of the content of the movie.

If you do not promote these kind of magnum opus movies , its not a problem, but if you oppose it , our film industry will never grow, and we will end up in making masala movies all the time, with no scope for technology or performances.

Either the release of the movie should happen , or else compensation has to be given to Kamal Hasan. He should be given for the losses incurred by him as a producer of the movie.

Threat to Vishwaroopam - Is it right?

The threatening statements against screening of Vishwaroopam were out today. It was to the extreme level, saying that they will take law into their hands if at all the movie gets screened in India. Who are these people to stop an artist from releasing his film in theatres , which contains many real facts about the 2002 US-Taliban war mixed up with sci fiction?

Is there no other way to protest against a movie? There are many other ways. They can go to the supreme court, let the judges see the movie and give their judgement. Who gave these people rights to ban an individual's freedom of expression, which is taken in the best possible way?

Are these protestors coming out to say that they have been portrayed badly in the movie as Militants? Did it means they are supporting the Taliban militants and their JIHAD,which resulted in merciless killing of millions of people so far?

Or else it means that they should be treated like the Talibans?

The way the protests are going gives this impression only. There are millions of Muslims , who are friendly with other communities of the country, who are facing embarrassing situation because of these few hundreds of protestors. This protest is really degrading their community , more than making others to show respect towards them.

Is law and order not listening to the threatening statements of these people? How the people depending on the vote bank of these protesters take action against them, in this secular country. Really its a shameful moment of Tamil Cinema and I dont see any film personalities coming out and supporting a fellow Industry person, except a few.

P.S - Its not to offend any one individually. Its a anguish on the threatening statements by few people against the Legend of Indian Cinema. I am sorry if it directly or indirectly offends any one else.

Vishwaroopam- Something behind the Protestors?

Till date we have come accross many protests from various people against Kamal Hasan movies. Virumandi,Mumbai Xpress, Hey Ram,Unnai Pol Oruvan,Manmadhan Ambu,Pammal K Sambandham, Vasool Raja MBBS, Avvai Shanmugi, Dhasavatharam.. These all I Know, but there might be many which I may not know.

The latest addition is Vishwaroopam. There were 2 Protests basically against this movie

1. Vishwaroopam - Sanskrit Title - Hindu Makkal Katchi
2. Portraying Muslims as Terrorists - Muslim Organizations( 24 in total as of date including few polictical parties)

The first one went un-noticed because, if Titles are non-Tamil, the entertainment tax exemption , which Kamal Hasan is least bothered.

The second one became a big issue , asking for the ban of the movie screening by few Protesting groups from a religion. Their statement is - Their community is being shown as terrorists in the movie.

I had a strong belief that Kamal Hasan never portays anything worng about a particular community, nor any thing fictious about any community. This is absolutely right , when I watched the movie.

What bothers these protestors, if the Afghan militants are shown as muslims in the movie( which is real fact, the entire world knows it). They invited themselves into the issue, and made other common Tamil muslim feel bad and embarassed. India is a country where Muslims were Presidents of the country( the top most level of Indian constitution), Vice presidents, Cabinet Ministers, Captains in various sports, many top level posts in Defence, Police  and other civil departments. There are brotherly relations between Other religion people and Muslims in most parts of the state. By raising this issue, it is making an embarassing situation for those Muslims, who are friendly with other religions.

One main fact these protestors have to think about is - How does showing Talibans as militants ( a real fact) , in a Tamil movie will impact the respect of Tamil muslims?

Are people so mad to believe that all people of that community are Militants? And every person of that community does a JIHAD? The answer is absolutely a big "NO". People are not mad to the core to show hatered on a person of community , just because some person , somewhere in the world of that community is doing a bad thing.

Do the protestors think that all people from thier community are being seen as Militants by the society here because of the movies? Its is "No" defenitely. The way they are protesting asking for a ban, is making people think in that way. The protests are really degrading the community. It is creating a bad impact on thier community atleast 1000 times than the movie can create, if at all. Blindly protesting is of no use, without any baseless statements. Afghans should be shown as Muslims only, since it is the fact. And it will never create any harm to any people following that community in India, especially Tamilnadu. It is clearly indicating that , beyond the reason they are telling out, there is some kind of other motivations behind these protests. No one can stop an Artist from delivering his performances on screen. The protests have degraded the respect of the community. It is better to stop it and support the release of the film atleast now.

First and foremost, look Cinema as Cinema and not real life. And more over, dont mix up politics with every cinema. Vishwaroopam is a next level Indian cinema and encouragement is needed for the same, and not selfish, political based protests.

Is our Democracy still existing? Are we letting every one to express thier views , I really feel that Cinema Industry is the most minority in the country, who is deprived of all kinds of freedom. If this situation continues, we will never be able to compete with World Cinema. I dont understand why everyone asks for a ban against a particular movie, every time.

Please watch movies for entertainment. Never use them for your baseless protests.

Really one has to admire the guts of Kamal Hasan to come up with a movie , on Global terrorism , without showing any false facts and not using any scenes which can hurt the sentiments of any community. His efforts have to be applauded and never be asked for a ban from showing his masterpiece in theatres. Are they realising how much the theatres and film industry is losing because of these protests? I believe Kamal Hasan has every right to sue the protestors for causing losses to the movie screening and ask for a compensation, if at all we are living in a Secular democratic country. Government should support this and not support senselss protests asking for a ban. It was a funny judgement today from the Madras High Court, saying that Kamal should discuss with the protestors and solve this issue, besides they have watched the movie, which is being cleared by Censor board, who had a Muslim member in it. If he has to solve by having discussion with the protestors, then what is use of our Judicial system?

Is the government is supporting the protestors just because of the vote banks? This question also arises for everyone who looks at all these incendents happing against "VISHWAROOPAM"

Final say, Vishwaroopam is a movie based on US-Taliban war and it has nothing to do with the Tamil Muslims or Muslim community. What ever we had read in news about the 2002 war had been only shown in the movie, which is a well known fact for the world.

Vishwaroopam's ban - Dont we have freedom of expression?

By seeing the few protesting group's desire of banning the movie Vishwaroopam, only one thing comes in my mind. Are we having freedom of expression  and speech?

And one more question too Are the Laws are written only for the sake of filling the rule numbers and it is not mandatory to follow?

The basic reason why these two questions arises in my mind is, Vishwaroopam is a movie made based on the Global terrorism involving US and Afghanistan. The movie's censor committee had a muslim official and he cleared it , since it is not showing anything beyond reality. Also, it is not showing anything which can really hurt a religion or community.

If the same movie is made by a Hollywood director, with Hollywood actors, the same protestors would keep watching it many times , and will acclaim it as a best and excellent made movie. If the same is made by an Indian, especially from Tamil Cinema, it will be called for a ban, indicating that it is portraying their religion in a bad way.

One basic Information- It is well known that Afghanistan is a muslim country right? And Talibans , who were once ruling Afghanistan are Al Qaida Muslims right? Showing the real fact in a Tamil movie will make people think bad about the community here? Absolutely "NO" , because the entire world knows about the terrorism and who is promoting it, who is doing it.

Every one who is asking for a Ban should first understand that , the scenes portrayed in the movie are facts showed with fiction and nothing new, which the world does not know. Also , they should prove that Afghans are not belonging to their religion , if at all Vishwaroopam has to be banned permanently. But its not possible right. It clearly looks like they are doing it to be in news and gain some publicity, its for their personal benefit and not for the community. Please dont call for a ban on a movie for publicity sake. If at all any scene in the movie is offending( I saw the movie & I didn't find any), you can ask for removing that scene and not banning the movie fully.

A final word - Its not at all showing any thing bad about any religion. The movie portals the US-Taliban war , and it will not create any bad impression on any religion in the country. And more over, till date no movie has made any impact on any community. Every one knows that too. Please look movies as movies and dont use them for your own publicity. Vishwaroopam is a movie , made with latest technology and it has to be seen by every one in theaters, if at all our Tamil Cine Industry has to go to next level . Never try to suppress talent of any one.

The movie is getting huge response and heavy crowds ( from the community of the protesters in very huge numbers), and its being appreciated for the excellent making, performance and taking, screenplay, editing, music.

Please allow everyone to express their views. Dont call for a ban for your personal/political benefits.

From a die hard Kamal Hasan Fan.

P.S - It is purely my opinion and I am sorry if any one does not agree with this.

Vishwaroopam- My View

Just I finished watching Vishwaroopam.

Coming to the protests raised by few muslim organizations, there is nothing bad shown about muslims, infact the movie shows muslim community in good way ti the possible extent. I dont understand what has hurt these protestors.

The movie starts in US, travels in Afghanistan in the flash back episode.

The movie portrays glimpses of Taliban-US war. Only Talibans are shown as terrorists in the movie, which is the real fact. I admire Kamal Hasan for giving an extrordinary movie on Global Terrorism.

The movie is well written, well edited, well picturized, well choreographed, well produced. Overall I give a 9/10 for this movie.

The story revolves around Vishwanath@Wisam, Nirupama,Asmitha,Omar,Salim. Screenplay is very clear and well executed, except a few little pace downs.

The stunts are better than those we see in Hollywood movies. Performances by the cast is clean and perfect.

Overall a technical brilliance taken to next level in Indian Cinema. All the scenes of the movie portraying terrorism are very similar to the US-Taliban war happened a decade ago, shown with good amount of fiction.

Hats off to Kamal Hasan, the world cinema legend for making such a wonderful cinema. Everyone should watch this movie in theatres and its worth watch for atleast couple of times.

If you expect a masala commercial entertainer, you wont like Vishwaroopam. But if you expect a sci fi action movie, you will get what you want.

Background score, songs placement and aura technology also deserve full credits.

My rating is 9/10.

Vishwaroopam's Vishwaroopam

Vishwaroopam is a film based on Taliban - USA clashes. It was made very clear through the trailer and the information that Kamal Hasan gave to the media.

Everyone knows what is the religion of Afghanistan, every one knows how USA is trying to prove its supremacy in Afghan.

Then why these many protests from Muslim Politicians of Tamilnadu???

Movie got released today in Kerala where 25% of the population are Muslims and no protests came from them.

Movie got released in Malaysia where Muslims are in large numbers, but no protests came from them.

Then why the protests from Tamilnadu alone?

Can a movie create huge impact on a society?

The answer is a big "NO". The best examples are Kamal Hasan movies alone.

Mahanadi portrayed the Chit companies fraud, but till date its continuing non stop. Did the people awake from that and stopped investing in private chit funds?

In Virumandi, death sentence abolishment was the concept? Did it happen????

In Devar magan, eradication of communal fights is the concept. Did people stop it by looking its climax?

In Anbe sivam, love and affection is the main concept. But did any one turn communist and showered affection on all?

If all the above Kamal films did not create any impact, how can Vishwaroopam create a bad impact on the society????

If any one protesting against the film can answer this properly, he can be treated as THE BEST EVER INDIAN CITIZEN caring about Indian society.

But no one protesting against this film has a valid reason. Simply they are citing that all muslim characters shown in the film are terrorist characters. Is there any other religion in Afghanistan prevailing? Is there any militant from Afghanistan who is a non - muslim. This doesn't mean that all muslims are terrorits? Does it mean? I dont think so.

Yesterday I read one article from an Indian muslim writer about this issue, I was surprised to see that he is feeling ashamed for this protest by few co-muslims.Hats off to you Mr Naseeruddin Shah @ Alavandhan.

Even if few scenes in film are against a community , how our censor board will certify them? Lets assume that they have missed it, in that case, any one has right to ask the producer of the movie to remove those obsene scenes only. No one has right to ask for a ban on the movie. Look Cinema as a Cinema and not as the one which is really happening around you.

If a film can cause a revolt or an impact on society, then how many of the educated youth turned up in politics watching Ayutha Ezhuthu(Yuva)? I dont see any , including me.

Finally, only one thing is flashing in mind. Free publicity for the lesser known political party in TN, like the one who became so popular by starting a protest against FANAA in Gujarat , few years back.

This article is not to offend any Muslim or any one personally. I personally feel that there is no meaning in asking for a ban on Vishwaroopam. If few scenes are against Islam, any one in this country has every right to ask Kamal Hasan to remove it from the movie. But no one has any right to ask for the ban on the movie. I am really surprised to see why the TN Govt imposed ban. Is it because Udhayanidhi Stalin is distributing the movie in Salem area or is it to prove the protests are correct or is it to corner Kamal Hasan or is it for some thing else. Questions are many , but there are no valid answers.

I am sorry if this article hurted any one directly or indirectly. Its purely my opinion and I believe I have freedom of speech still existing in this country.

Pirivaatraamai - Review of Short Film by Haresh R & Co!

Cast and Crew:

Story : Nandhasivabalan
Cinematography : Chandrasekhar G
Editing, Mixing, Direction : Haresh R

This short film , made by Haresh & Team , is a narration of the tale of a boy, his lover and a Professional.

The film starts showing , how the day starts for the hero and the professional. Both are contrasting in nature and well caputred. The most attractive part of this is, the story is told by the emotions of the characters and not by dialogues.

The film ends with the mistake done by professional, which impacts the life of the hero.

All the characters are perfectly portrayed and matured. All the cast perfectly performed what is needed, not a bit more or a bit less. The narration is excellent though its a bit slow paced, which the script demands.

Cinematography is main asset of this short film. All the scenes are well captured and needs an applause.

The background music mixing is well done, and the screenplay is well done and crisp. The direction is superb.

Overall, this film never looks like a film made by first timers.

Well done Haresh,Chandru, Nanda, Preetha,Venkat,Sajna. Hats off to you. The overall outcome is very nice and appreciable.
